I was a massive Stingray and Thunderbirds fan as a kid, so my dad got a vhs of Fireball XL5 and just that little "Ready Steve!" just took me RIGHT BACK!
Didn't realize they STOLE the opening XL5 takeoff sequence from the 1951 movie "WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE"....tsk, tsk. Actually enjoyed these marionette cartoons!!...
Born in ‘61. I’ve hummed & sang what words I could remember for all those years until today, when I googled those words & got this result. Incredible to hear it again & see that little bit of the old show. Thank you for the upload!
The first time that I heard a fighter jet start-up on APU, I thought of this sequence. And every single time through 40+ years of military aircraft maintenance!
in the mid-60's i had the actual Fireball XR5 spaceship toy. The nose separated into a separate spaceship, it had the little rocket scooters, the side doors folded down and shot rockets attached to the doors. It was my fave toy. Thanx for the nostalgia flashback 😄👍
Very good!! Thank you. I watched this when I was a kid.
Who's here after watching samdish interview??? 😂
same
Here😂
Anybody from samdish's interview?
Me😂
" Hallo, Dick ! My word, you've grown since I saw you last !" "Are you talking to yourself again, Julian ?" "Oh yes, very funny... "
Marionettes with flames. Cool!

From the Earth to the Moon! Episode 5 "Spider" is my favorite when they show how they built the Lunar Module. It opens with this song! Love it lol
I loved this as a kid. Then in my late teens it came on TV again and watched it all over again. Classic.
Curry rice and chicken please
I always think of Sean Pertwee doing karaoke in "love honour and obey " when I hear this
The blast off is at 0:37.
I feel that this is the correct way to launch a rocket.

Wholly fitting that the bad guys are French
I still have this 45 single. I think it was the first single I ever bought.
Oh....great tv memories
Always wondered how it landed...❤️
Remembering my childhood. Got this end theme song on a 45 in the day.

Someone asked on Twitter today about the best TV theme song, and this was my choice. Thought it was cool when I was a kid and still do.
I just acquired a xl5 from Japan for my collection! I was 6yrs old when I watched my first episode !
Amazing! I am 50 years now living in London. I remember watching this series as a school kid living in India on a black & white television.
Who is sarf landon ?
I don't remember much (except for the creepy puppets) about this show which I watched on TV around age 7 - but I still remember that theme song!
I LOVE Zoonie!!! ❤❤❤
The first time that I heard a fighter jet start-up on APU, I thought of this sequence. And every single time through 40+ years of military aircraft maintenance!
George Noory sent me here.
Childhood memories par excellence. Now I’m compelled at the age of 65 to buy the box set 😂❤. Gerry Anderson is a God!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Zoonie the lazoon!!! ❤
Suggested lyric correction: I think it's "conquerors of the stars" not "compass"
Slow down video. Sounds like "conquers" as a two syllable word. Conquerors is a three syllable word.

The rocket end looks like the classic Dyson vacuum cleaner turbo mechanism.
This would be great idea for a vacuum cleaner.

When erectile dysfunction was yet to be invented
Im not sure that pass carbon emissions protocols today !
Great animation and song. Much better than anything out now.
It's a good song, it has a good beat, and easy to dance to. I give it a 95.
